Hyjal Summit
Hyjal Summit is the 20-player, 13-boss raid at the peak of Mount Hyjal in World of Warcraft: Forever, where someone or something is draining the land's power. It unlocks on Dec 9, 2026.
Hyjal Summit is a 20-player raid in World of Warcraft: Forever, set in Mount Hyjal after the battle there. On the What's Next panel at BlizzCon 2026 the presenter recalls how, at the Battle for Mount Hyjal, Malfurion Stormrage gave up the power that sustained the night elves' immortality for a chance to defeat Archimonde. It worked, but not every night elf can have agreed with his choice. Now there are reports that someone or something is draining the power from the land around Hyjal Summit.

The raid
Players will need to be prepared: the presenter reckons a group of 20 of the finest would have "a reasonable chance of surviving", and calls it "by far our largest raid in WoW Forever". Snowy peaks tower over the area, a raging river cuts through ancient elven ruins, and the ghosts of the Third War can be heard whispering. There may be plenty of power to be had as well, the presenter adds: "Legendary power."
The raid belongs to the new Mount Hyjal zone, an endgame leveling zone set in the aftermath of Archimonde's defeat. Introducing the zone earlier on the same panel, Blizzard said that players seeking a greater challenge will find Hyjal Summit there, and that Hyjal is also one of three entrances to the other new raid, the Barrow Deeps.
When it opens
Hyjal Summit is not available at launch on Nov 4, 2026. Associate production director Clay Stone told the panel that new raids unlock on Dec 9, 2026, followed by even more new raids, new dungeons, PvP updates and world content. Blizzard's written recap gives the same date for both new raids; the full timeline is on Release and Roadmap.
MadSeasonShow, summarizing the announcements on Sep 14, 2026, says Hyjal Summit unlocks about a month after launch and that a legendary questline comes with it, though with no details beyond the fact that it exists.
The legendary
Clay Stone listed "our first new legendary" among the features there was no time to cover on the panel. Blizzard's written recap says only that a legendary reward is planned and will be revealed in full later. The panel's tease of "legendary power" came in its introduction of Hyjal Summit, but Blizzard has not yet said in writing which raid or questline the legendary belongs to.
Hyjal Summit and the original raids
Hyjal Summit is new content in the Vanilla era, not a move forward in time. Stone pointed to a "revamped iconic raid" in the summer column of the roadmap and stressed that Forever takes place at the beginning of World of Warcraft and tells stories authentic to that period: the original iconic raids "have not opened yet", and the team wants players to rediscover them later.
The raid overview
Blizzard's raid overview of Oct 20, 2026 places Hyjal Summit at the peak of Mount Hyjal near the World Tree Nordrassil and gives it 13 bosses. It begins with a battle against an ancient guardian; from there, raid groups choose among multiple paths across the mountain, through ruins above and below ground, before the way opens to the final encounters. All raids are currently planned to reset weekly, and Hyjal Summit unlocks on Dec 9 with the Barrow Deeps and Onyxia's Lair (Blizzard).
