Krol'dok Stronghold

Krol'dok Stronghold is a World of Warcraft: Forever dungeon for levels 40 to 45 in the Riverglades: an enormous, partly outdoor ogre fortress of workshops, camps and guarded halls, home to the raiders kidnapping travelers across the zone, with strange chanting heard after nightfall.

Krol'dok Stronghold is a five-player dungeon for levels 40 to 45 in World of Warcraft: Forever, an ogre fortress in The Riverglades, Forever's new leveling zone on the eastern coast of the Eastern Kingdoms. Blizzard introduced it at BlizzCon on Sep 12, 2026 as "an enormous outdoor dungeon where a powerful ogre civilization is conducting some very questionable business", adding that "it might be nice to have another option besides running Scarlet Monastery for the 25th time". Ogre raiders have been kidnapping travelers and looting settlements across the Riverglades, and their trail leads to the stronghold. It opens with the game on Nov 4, 2026.

Setting and story

Nora Mills described the stronghold on the What's Next panel: "a stronghold crawling with ogres". In the Riverglades, ogre outrunners have been kidnapping people, and several raids have struck the region; sturdy adventurers "could potentially put up a fight and end the ogre's mischief". She added a warning: "in the twilight hours of the night, I've heard weird chanting coming from the place. Could it be cultists?"

Blizzard's dungeon article of Oct 20, 2026 tells the same story with more of the fortress: the raiders' trail leads to a large stronghold full of workshops, camps and guarded interior halls, and a group must end the raids and look into the strange chanting that rises from the fortress at night. Blizzard has not said who is chanting. The Riverglades itself also has the Twilight's Hammer among its enemies, Blizzard said on its Found Photographs panel, though it has not tied the cult to the stronghold (see The Riverglades).

The level range

Krol'dok Stronghold is for levels 40 to 45. On stage at BlizzCon the range was given as "40 to 55", and other figures circulated afterward until Blizzard's community manager Kaivax settled it on the World of Warcraft forums on Sep 15, 2026: "In WoW: Forever, Krol'dok Stronghold will be for levels 40-45." That places it between The Drowned City (35 to 40) and Alcaz Prison (48 to 53), and in step with the Riverglades, which Blizzard pitches at the mid-30s to the mid-40s with more than 150 new quests.

A developer favorite

Krol'dok is the dungeon Blizzard's own encounter designers seem most eager to show. Asked on the third WoW: Forever Podcast, on Oct 8, 2026, for their favorites, one said "my actual favorite dungeon in WoW Forever, and the one I'm excited for people to see is Krol'dok Stronghold", adding that it had not been shown much; another said "that's another one we're kind of saving a little bit" and that, having played through all of them many times as a team, Krol'dok was their favorite too.

Little else is public as of Oct 20, 2026: Blizzard has not named the bosses or the loot, and the stronghold is above the beta's level cap of 30. Across Forever, unique dungeon boss items are rare (blue) quality and uncommon and rare drops grant their appearance to every eligible looter (see Dungeons).
