Night Elf

4:44 Night Elves in World of Warcraft: Forever are an Alliance race whose racials at launch are Elune's Light, 10% critical strike chance for 15 seconds; Shadowmeld; Quickness, 1% dodge and 2% run speed; and Wisp Spirit, 75% more run speed while dead. Xaryu read out the critical strike active on his first BlizzCon session. They start in Shadowglen, a starting zone Blizzard named when promising something new for every race, and can be Druid, Hunter, Priest, Rogue or Warrior.

Racials at launch

The list comes from the BlizzCon demo as Warcraft Tavern catalogued it (Warcraft Tavern), and Blizzard's notes have changed one line since: Quickness's "movement speed increase now stacks with other movement speed increases" (Blizzard). A smaller note says Night Elves no longer show their shields in Wisp Form. The launch pass of Oct 26, 2026 does not mention the race (Blizzard), so these stand.

Blizzard's Druid deep dive adds that racial abilities are now usable while shapeshifted, Shadowmeld included (Blizzard). Crix at Mobalytics says Shadowmeld also lowers threat slightly, and rates the race strong in PvE and weak in PvP, for lack of a game-changing tool there.

Classes

Blizzard's table lists Druid, Hunter, Priest, Rogue and Warrior (Blizzard). The Night Elf gets no new combination in Forever. Two races share the Alliance's Druid: the Night Elf and the Skyborne High Order.

Night Elf Priests keep two race spells, re-evaluated by Blizzard. Starshards is still learned at level 10, with damage "increased substantially" and now a 30-second cooldown. Elune's Grace, still at level 20, reduces the chance for melee and ranged attacks to hit the Priest by 50% for 15 seconds or until 3 attacks have missed, on a 5-minute cooldown (Blizzard). Notes also let Starshards benefit from the Twilight Focus talent (Blizzard).

Teldrassil and the Barrow Deeps

8:12 "Whether you're starting your journey as an orc in the Valley of Trials or a night elf in Shadowglen, there's something new just for you," Blizzard's lead content designer said at BlizzCon. Beta notes reduced "Bounty: Gnarlpine Furbolg" to 15 kills (was 20), and adjusted "Destiny Calls", "Escaping Ban'ethil" and "Twisted Hatred" (Blizzard).
