Guilds and Grouping

Finding a group in World of Warcraft: Forever: the Looking for Group tool at meeting stones that lists groups but does not form them, no summoning stones, Warlock summons, grouping only within a ruleset and faction, the WoW Portal Room Discord, Discord voice, and raid sizes.

World of Warcraft: Forever has a Looking for Group tool that lists groups but does not form them or teleport anyone, and its meeting stones do not summon, so your group still has to reach the dungeon door. "Dungeons aren't just the experience inside. It's the journey to get to it," the developers said on the Oct 8 podcast, "which is why no summoning stones". Blizzard's Tim Jones and Mike Nuthals told Kotaku that meeting stones at dungeon entrances open the feature, and you can list and find groups there. You can group only with players of your own ruleset and faction (Blizzard).

First raids Dec 9, 2026: The Barrow Deeps (10), Hyjal Summit (20), Onyxia's Lair (40)

Why there are no summoning stones

A developer said on the Oct 8 podcast that the team wants "to be very careful on anything that cuts down travel time", since the effort of reaching a dungeon and the people met along the way matter. Another added that no summoning also keeps players from gathering only at a few hot spots. Blizzard wrote to TechRadar that "easy, quick access to teleports shrink the world", as Icy Veins quotes it, and marginalize part of the Warlock's identity. So a Warlock in the party is the only summon; see Best Class. Plan the walk with Dungeons and Zones by Level.

The tool in the beta

The beta's notes added to the group tool as testing went on. Group Finder postings can pick an In-Game Voice Mode, prompting members to join the chosen voice chat, and on Oct 15 the list began updating dungeon eligibility when party members differ in level. Blizzard also fixed its "Show All Level Ranges" checkbox. /who learned subzones on Oct 15, so /who northshire finds characters there. A guest on the Oct 29 podcast said players also listed things like dueling raids in the tool.

Party changes can matter in the open world: the Oct 1 notes stopped party leaders being moved when a party forms, and layering is on Rulesets.

Guilds

Guilds, dungeons and raids all stay inside one ruleset and faction, so Blizzard asks you to agree on both with friends before creating a character. The beta's Olympus chain ran into guilds of about 1,000 members, as Asmongold's own roll call showed; Blizzard has not published the cap as of Oct 31, 2026.

Blizzard gave protecting "the traditional guild structure" as the main reason to ban GDKP raids; see Gold Guide. Every raid tier, Jones and Nuthals told Kotaku, will have at least one 10-player and one 20-player option, sometimes with a 40-player raid, and flexible raid sizes are out. See Raids.

The WoW Portal Room

Blizzard's official answer to "where do I find a guild?" is the WoW Portal Room, the game's Discord server, whose invite is on that Oct 27, 2026 article. WoW Ambassadors, experienced players who represent their own Discord communities, help you find one that fits. Blizzard calls it "a gateway", not the final destination.

Bigger groups and what comes later

Larger parties are an idea, not a feature. Asked on the Oct 29 podcast about 80 to 120 player groups, a developer said the team has thought about letting you "make an army", but "we're not announcing anything". Another, speaking of large battles, said the state at the end of the beta is what to expect for launch.

What is not known yet

As of Oct 31, 2026: Blizzard's guild member cap, and how busy the group tool will be on each ruleset at launch.
