Talent Respec and Builds
Changing talents in World of Warcraft: Forever: at a class trainer in a major city, Legacy talents included, Dual Specialization planned for level 40, the beta's temporary prices, AllThingsHow's reported costs, and why builds written before Oct 16, 2026 may be out of date.
You change talents in World of Warcraft: Forever at a class trainer in a major city, and Dual Specialization is planned for level 40, though Blizzard has not published launch prices as of Oct 31, 2026. On the Oct 8 podcast a developer said Dual Specialization "will come online at level 40 currently", with the team still discussing the right level, and that it lets more players commit to being a dedicated healer or tank. Blizzard's class articles give the trainer rule and include Legacy talents in it; see Classes and Talents. Blizzard's "1 silver" respec was temporary and only for the beta.
Quick facts
| Talents from | Level 10 (Blizzard) |
| Where to change them | A class trainer in a major city, Legacy talents included |
| Dual Specialization | Level 40 "currently", said on Oct 8, 2026 |
| Beta price | 1 silver, rising after a reset and falling back after an hour; beta only (Blizzard) |
| Launch price | Not published by Blizzard as of Oct 31, 2026 |
| Reported early price | 1 gold, then 5 gold, up to 50 gold (AllThingsHow, Sep 21, 2026) |
| Milestone talents | At 11, 16, 21 and 31 points |
| Legacy points to spend | 16 per character at launch |
What it costs
In the beta's Sep 24, 2026 notes, the first reset cost 1 silver, the next "much higher", dropping to 1 silver after an hour; Blizzard labeled that "temporary for the Beta only". The Oct 8 notes applied the same idea to Legacy points.
The only prices beyond that come from a guide site. AllThingsHow, updated Sep 21, 2026, listed 1 gold for the first reset and 5 gold for the second, rising to a cap of 50 gold, and 10 gold for a Legacy reset, and warned the values could change. That guide predates the beta's discount and is unconfirmed; check your trainer on launch day. Saving for it is on Gold Guide.
Builds
Blizzard publishes no recommended builds, and it aims for all 27 talent trees to be viable in a group. Trees keep Classic's seven rows, with milestone talents at 11, 21 and 31 points and a new one at 16, so your points shape a build around those choices.
Date any build you follow. The beta's notes of Oct 15, 2026, and a build just after midnight on Oct 16, moved and replaced many talents: Elemental Shamans got Elemental Mastery back at 31 points, Arcane Mages gained Arcane Wrath at 16, and Shadow Priests lost Improved Fade. A build written before that may name talents that no longer exist. Each class's page sets out its specs: Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock and Druid. Method offers a talent calculator and a Legacy calculator; its picks are opinion. The beta stopped at level 30, so no build has had a public test at level 60.
Two beta additions help you copy from others: "View Talents" sits under Inspect in the target frame's menu (Oct 8), and level-up messages again name talent points gained (Oct 15).
Legacy talents
Each character spends up to 16 Legacy points at launch, in Professions, Adventure and Resourcefulness. One perk, Talented, grants talent points up to five levels early. Hardcore keeps its own Legacy progression; see Hardcore.
