Holy Paladin
Holy Paladin in World of Warcraft: Forever, tier by tier: Voice of Truth at 11 points, Divine Favor at 16, Holy Shock at 21, Light's Vigil at 31, Reverence and Spirit, Divine Precision's 18% hit, and how Blizzard says a Holy Paladin heals a party.
Holy Paladin in World of Warcraft: Forever is a single-target healer whose 31-point talent, Light's Vigil, is its only way to heal whole parties, and it must be set up first. At BlizzCon the presenter's plan was to place it on several parties, then "holy shock, holy shock, holy shock" before a big hit. Blizzard's Holy Strike and Lay on Hands changes are on Paladin, and healers are compared on Best Healer. Forever launches on Nov 4, 2026.

Improved Lay on Hands is altered, since the cooldown fell baseline. Improved Holy Strike, shown at BlizzCon, was removed on Sep 24: "made this feel like a talent that was required" (Blizzard).
How Blizzard says it plays
"Holy Paladins excel at sustaining heals on a single target with Flash of Light", Blizzard's article says, and healing a party "requires more planning". Light's Vigil "is more difficult to use reactively, as significant setup is required". Divine Precision exists because "We do not plan to include itemization for Hit chance on Plate healing gear". Holy Shock's early spot opens "more flexibility for hybrid Shockadin builds" (Blizzard).
Infusion of Light answers the Flash of Light or Holy Light habit, the presenter said at BlizzCon, to "mix those spells together".
Spirit matters now: "paladins will now care about spirit and get regen from it while in combat". The panel said Spirit is "worth having on your gear".
The trade, in the panel's words: limited party healing, but "the best single target heal in the game".
In the beta, by date
- Sep 24: Holy Strike's cooldown lowered to 10 seconds from 12, Improved Holy Strike removed, Holy Power gained Holy Strike's 15% (Blizzard).
- Oct 15: Salvation and Mass Salvation replaced the Blessings, not exclusive with them, and Revoke removes them. Infusion of Light had been granting Holy Shock 50% more damage against enemies; fixed. Light's Vigil now works through a focus macro (Blizzard).
One beta scare came from another tree: players feared Holy Paladins would have to reach deep into Retribution for Champion of the Light. A designer answered that it "doesn't increase healing power anymore". See Retribution Paladin.
Dungeons and raids
Blizzard says new talents make Holy Paladins "viable healers across all forms of group play" (Blizzard). Its articles assign no raid healing role. See Raids and Dungeons.
What creators said
Countdown, one creator, reading a community site's demo tooltips on Sep 13, listed Light's Vigil at 730 mana. He wondered if the cast should be instant, then decided a Holy Paladin is "the stand in the mud turret" anyway. The figure is his, from before the beta.
